If you think your guy is lying to you, you’re not alone.
There are a number of reasons why guys lie, but these are the 3 most common reasons.
1. They don’t want to hurt you.
Guys would rather lie to you than go through the uncertainty of how you’ll react if they tell the truth.
They may not know what to do next and they would rather not deal with it.
Plus, they think they are doing the right thing by not hurting your feelings.
2. They want to avoid drama.
Remember, guys think in terms of winning or losing.
If they think telling the truth will have a downside, such as stirring up drama or conflict, then they want to avoid that “loss.”
They need to know there is no downside to telling the truth.
If you’ve ever wondered why he suddenly stopped calling… that’s why!
3. They want to impress you.
Most people have stretched the truth at one point or another, in order to impress someone.
On the one hand, it’s nice that a guy would want to impress you so much that he’d stretch the truth to build himself up to you.
On the other hand, lying is not a compliment, and most of us would prefer the truth.
If he doesn’t feel good enough to get you without lying, that may be a sign of insecurity.
If he’s self confident enough to know that you approve of him the way he is, he’ll be more likely to be honest with you.
Once you understand him, you can steer clear of trouble and stay in his heart.
