I love the song from the movie/play Camelot where Guinevere sings the verse ‘It’s May it’s May ,that lusty month of May’. Lusty…it means being full of strength, vitality, health and vigor. I hope that describes how you have been feeling.
Summer is around the corner, and that means we start to think of lightening up our wardrobes. Today’s article is about the T-Shirt. Yes the All -American staple has morphed and is now hipper than ever with its many incarnations. I am going to list some of my favs.
T-Shirts Are Bigger Than Ever!
A while back t-shirts were meant to be worn only on weekends or at the gym. They have made their way back into the major fashion mainstream and many are works of art. They are more accepted in a business casual setting BUT they better not be ratty. Did you ever think that concert t-shirt you bought in the 70’s or 80’s could be worth $$$.
I saw a Grateful Dead concert t-shirt on Ebay for $3000.00! Wow. I should have kept my Bobby Sherman concert tee ;)
Here Is My T-shirt Low Down:
Shaping t-shirt – Miraclebody. This is an brilliant product with a built in 2nd layer shaping camisole. They have a tiny bit of gathering in front for a friendly fit over the tummy.
Classic v-necks and crew necks – J. Crew,Club Monaco and Banana Republic– can’t beat these brands for quality and colors that do not fade. If you don’t see what you like in the store check online for more available colors and sizes.
Not too tight- J. Jill, Coldwater Creek and Chico’s offers a bit of a fuller fit especially for a larger bustlines.
Kinda dressy- look for something drapey, e.g rayon, silk or micromodal. Vince brand has some good options.
Fun prints- Chaser, Ella Moss, Splendid to name a few. Most have an ease of fit, so no need to be concerned with any little lumps ;) showing through.
5 Deadly Sins to Avoid when Getting Dressed
When you wake up in the morning do you stumble to kitchen, trip over the dog while searching for that first cuppa Joe? Then before you know it it is time to get dressed and decide what to wear.
• Have you even thought about your day ahead?
• Client meetings?
• Lunch with the boss?
Well here are some points you might want to consider before just pulling anything out of the closet and bypassing an inspection in the mirror. Foregoing a polished, professional appearance is not going to get you that ‘Mr. Biggie Big’ client!
