If you’ve dated a lot of guys in your life, you’ve probably come across at least one who falls into this category.

Wishy-washy guys can’t seem to make up their minds about a particular girl or what they want from a relationship. They loaded with excuses for pulling away, or being unavailable, or still holding an active online dating account.

They’re like excuse machines.

This behavior can incur damage on others, damage with lasting scars. He’s like a hit and run driver. You can’t even really call what you have with a guy like this “a relationship,” because the truth is: he was never IN a relationship with you.

These guys tend to leave their mark on you and, many times, it takes a long time to get back in the saddle again.

For many women, it’s a learning experience that will teach them how to identify and avoid men like that in the future. But some aren’t so lucky and can get sucked in more than once.

Here’s a List of Classic Wishy-Washy Guy Signs:

He comes on like gangbusters in the beginning: Oh yes, these men are excellent when it comes to sweeping you off your feet. They go into total obsessive mode. That’s why it can be hard to tell what’s really going on.

He’s probably coming out of a relationship with someone else, or may just be ready to move on from one he’s still in. He’s looking for the ego boost of winning your heart.

Suddenly, he switches gears: Sometimes it’s two weeks in, sometimes two months, he’ll start acting differently, like something is bothering him. Usually, this happens once he feels like he’s won your affection and you’re starting to care about him, because, for this man, keeping you is less of an ego boost than winning you.

You’ll find him remarkably less available. His texts will drop off like they drove over a cliff. When you press him about it, maybe he tells you that he’’s not over his ex or that he’s met someone that he’’s really attracted to but he doesn’t want to hurt you.

He rebounds to you like a boomerang: Hey, it’s only been a few of weeks of dating, so maybe you feel can let him go do his thing. Seems like the safest idea. It was fun while it lasted now move on, right?

When you distance yourself from him, that does something weird to him. Suddenly, YOU’RE the one he MUST have. That other woman or whatever he says was pulling him away means nothing to him … Expect this to happen several times while you’’re with him.

He packs and leaves every time you have an argument: There’s something addictive for this man in the drama of leaving and reuniting. He wants the warm relief on his return, so he has to amp up the disagreement and departure. But he always comes back, and often within a few hours.

Those are just a few of the signs of a wishy-washy guy. There are others unique to different men but usually they all share these traits.

The best way to handle this man is not to get involved with him. Don’t fall into the trap of believing you can change him, because it’s not going to happen. He thrives on variety, drama, and newness and always will. Needless to say, those AREN’T qualities of a true and lasting relationship.
