line-drawn-couple-with-heart-balloonHere’s one of the easiest ways to reach any goal you set:

When most people set their goals, they make the mistake of setting huge goal markers.

For instance, if you want to lose weight, don’t set a goal to loose 15 pounds in a week!

If you’re making $3,000 per month, your goal for next month shouldn’t be $10,000.

If you want to help out in your community, you shouldn’t join every organization that your town has
to offer. You are setting yourself up for disappointment.

You see, if you set a huge goal and continually miss it, you become discouraged and want to quit.

Instead, if you want to loose weight, set a goal to lose 1-3 pounds a week.

If you want to increase your income from $3,000 a month, then set a goal for maybe $4,000 the next month.

Likewise, only join one or two organizations that you know will easily fit into your schedule.

This may not seem like much but it’s much easier to attain.

Then at the end of the week or month you will be proud of yourself for reaching your goal and can now start a new week or month victoriously.

This method of setting goals and creating habits in our life can be used in any area of your life. And as
you begin to conquer certain areas of your life, choose one or two more things that you want to get
better at and repeat the process.

I know that this seems simple but that’s the point.

It’s so much easier to reach your goals if you are constantly achieving small things than if you are constantly failing because you set one HUGE goal.

Action Step:

1. Write down a major goal or habit that you want to reach and give it a time frame (for instance, you
want to get up an hour earlier each morning within a month’s time in order to have more time to get
things done).

2. Break your goal or habit down into smaller and easier achievable steps (for instance, wake up
every morning 2 minutes earlier than you did the day before. In 30 days time you will be waking up
one hour earlier than when you started!)

3. If you slip up or don’t hit your target DON’T quit.

Pick up from where you left off and keep going until you reach your goal!
